El Rancho Grande
El Rancho Grande is a cattle farm in Castleton, VA. It is nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ride in beautiful Rappahannock County, VA. El Rancho Grande was started by our grandfather Ray T. Cannon over 70 years ago.
These days the farm is overseen by Michael Cannon and Ashleigh Cannon Sharp. Both of us are Ray’s grandchildren. Castleton has been home to our family for 5 generations.
The Farm operates as a Black Angus Cow /Calf/ Bull operation. All of our cattle roam around freely at our ranch and are well taken care of. We have about 12 bulls for sale at all times as well as 20 cows for calving purposes. In addition we keep each year a few heifers for our friends and family who love the taste of our beef. These heifers graze all year around. No growth hormones or antibiotics in their feed! In addition they get a limited amount of grain to marble the meat, which is what most of our friends and family seem to prefer.
Beef can be ordered in packages of about 45 lbs containing various cuts for delivery now.
